Listed below are the two practical reference points to help with planning.
Exact usage varies depending on fabric type, grain, width, and individual cutting methods.
* Smallest size UK6: 140 × 135 cm (56" × 54")
* Largest size UK20: 150 × 195 cm (60" × 78")

Because every fabric behaves differently, it’s unrealistic to give precise yardage for ALL sizes and ALL materials. To keep things safe and simple, I provide the cutting layouts for these two sizes. For all other sizes, you may follow the LARGEST layout to ensure you have enough fabric.

Otherwise, do it yourself:

  • stretch a flat bed-sheet on a table or floor;
  • fold it to the width of the material you plan to use;
  • arrange ALL pattern pieces paying attention to the grainline desired-directions and seam allowances;
  • measure the length you have got.
