These pants are designed for a relaxed, draped fit rather than a close body fit. 
The elastic waistband makes them easy to wear, while the low-dropped crotch and wrap-style leg panels allow plenty of movement without restriction.
The crotch level sits very low — just above knee level — creating the characteristic dhoti-inspired silhouette. 
The design is intended to look soft, fluid and slightly oversized, with folds forming naturally around the inner legs and ankles.

✨ A Note on Inspiration:
This design is a modern female adaptation of a traditional Indian garment. Historically, the Dhoti is a wrapped lower-body garment for men in the Indian subcontinent. My pattern re-imagines its draped comfort into a practical, fully sewn version for contemporary everyday wear.

SUITABLE MATERIALS
Best made in light to medium-weight fabrics with soft drape.
* Size S: 140 × 235 cm (56" × 94")
* Size 3XL: 150 × 345 cm (56" × 138")

It's impossible to give fabric amounts for every fabric type and every size. For clarity, I provide yardage for both the smallest and largest sizes, based on a suitable fabric width. To stay on the safe side, you may follow the largest cutting layout for any other size.

To find out the AMOUNT for a particular FABRIC in your size, you might like taking your pattern to the fabric shop – their assistants are always happy to help.

Otherwise, do it yourself:

  • stretch a flat bed-sheet on a table or floor;
  • fold it to the width of the material you plan to use;
  • arrange ALL pattern pieces paying attention to the grainline desired-directions and seam allowances;
  • measure the length you have got.
