Digital PDF Sewing Pattern (no paper sent): Japanese-Style Cross-Back Apron / Unlined, with Side Seams & Pockets
Pattern code: mc2-1314

A minimalist, easy-to-sew Japanese-style apron with a flattering A-line silhouette, practical front pockets, and a comfortable cross-back design. The apron slips on easily — no ties or buttons — and provides excellent coverage while allowing full freedom of movement. Perfect for everyday wear in the kitchen, studio, or garden.

✨ Design Features:
• Relaxed, A-line silhouette — easy to layer over clothing.
• Deep patch pockets for practical storage.
• Overlapping cross-back panels for a secure fit and effortless style.
• Side seams for shaping and a neater finish.
• Unlined construction — lightweight and quick to sew.

✨ Customisation Tip:
To make a lined or reversible version, simply cut and sew the same pieces twice and stitch them together. Just remember to cross the back panels before joining the shoulder seams.

Skill level: EASY

Sizes: Individually printable sizes S-M-L-XL-2XL-3XL-4XL
To find out which size fits you best, use our MC2 Body Measurements Chart as your size guide (see picture).
!!! Please note that apron patterns are intentionally looser than garments — a relaxed fit is part of the design. For larger sizes, body-to-chart measurements may vary slightly; this is normal and part of the flexibility sewing offers. Measure yourself, pick the nearest size, and adjust for your own perfect fit.

🧵 Fabric Suggestions:
Suitable for all kinds of woven fabrics — cotton, linen, denim, canvas, chambray, or lightweight twill.
• Size S: 150 × 120 cm (60 " × 48 ")
• Size 4XL: 110 × 220 cm (44 " × 88 ")

As always, it's impossible to give fabric amounts for every fabric type and every size. For clarity, I provide yardage for both the smallest and largest sizes, based on a suitable fabric width. To stay on the safe side, you may follow the largest cutting layout for any other size.
