These trousers are designed with a relaxed fit through the hips and upper legs, created by soft pleats at the waist, while the legs gradually taper towards the ankle for the classic pegged-trouser shape.

The style works best when slightly loose rather than tightly fitted, allowing the pleats and tapered lines to fall naturally. Turn-up cuffs help balance proportions and give the trousers their refined contemporary look.

SUITABLE MATERIALS
Best suited to light-to-medium-weight woven fabrics with a soft body or gentle drape.
* UK10: 150 × 115 cm (60" × 46")
* UK26: 150 × 160 cm (60" × 64")

It's impossible to give fabric amounts for every fabric type and every size. For clarity, I provide yardage for both the smallest and largest sizes, based on a suitable fabric width. To stay on the safe side, you may follow the largest cutting layout for any other size.

To find out the AMOUNT for a particular FABRIC in your size, you might like taking your pattern to the fabric shop – their assistants are always happy to help.

Otherwise, do it yourself:

  • stretch a flat bed-sheet on a table or floor;
  • fold it to the width of the material you plan to use;
  • arrange ALL pattern pieces paying attention to the grainline desired-directions and seam allowances;
  • measure the length you have got.
