This cape is designed as a loose, flowing overlay rather than a fitted garment.
The shape falls from the neckline and drapes freely around the body, making it suitable for a wide range of body shapes and outfit layers.
Cape length is intended to reach floor level on an approximately 165-cm-tall woman, depending on fabric drape and footwear.

(OR... 1/2 width of wider fabrics)
• Flattering on a wide range of body types thanks to its fluid cut

SUITABLE MATERIALS: Best made in lightweight fabrics with soft drape.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
320 cm (128″) for any fabric width 55–75 cm (22″–30″)

FABRIC USE NOTE:
✦ This cape is cut from a long, narrow fabric piece.
✦ Because only part of the fabric width is needed, you may be able to make two capes from one suitable fabric length.
✦ Alternatively, use the remaining fabric width for another garment or accessory.
✦ This is especially useful when working with wide bridal, chiffon, georgette, or sheer fabrics.

To find out the AMOUNT for a particular FABRIC in your size, you might like taking your pattern to the fabric shop – their assistants are always happy to help.

Otherwise, do it yourself:

  • stretch a flat bed-sheet on a table or floor;
  • fold it to the width of the material you plan to use;
  • arrange ALL pattern pieces paying attention to the grainline desired-directions and seam allowances;
  • measure the length you have got.
